Federal (United States) — adult-use cannabis

Marijuana (cannabis with more than 0.3 percent delta-9 THC on a dry-weight basis) remains a Schedule I controlled substance under the federal Controlled Substances Act, 21 U.S.C. § 812(c) Schedule I(c)(10) and (17). Adult-use cannabis products are lawful only under the law of the state in which they are produced and sold, and may not be transported across state lines. Federal food-labeling rules (21 C.F.R. Part 101) are not applied by this tool to adult-use cannabis products; each state's own labeling code governs. This is a fixed note, not a rule the eligibility engine evaluates.
